Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your responsibilities for the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Renting a Vehicle
- To hire a vehicle in Armagh, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ depending on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur extra charges. A valid full driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. You will also need valid payment details and a security deposit, along with any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Reservations for car hire can be made via our website, over the phone, or at our Armagh office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are generally due at the time of vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards through secure payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- Upon collecting your vehicle, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be generated and must be signed by both parties. Please return the vehicle in the same condition as it was received, accounting only for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charges may apply. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at pickup; otherwise, refueling fees will be imposed. If you foresee a delay in returning the vehicle, please contact us promptly to discuss potential late return fees. You will be held accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges accrued during your rental, in addition to an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance. Full details regarding coverage and excess amounts are outlined in the Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless additional coverage applies. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance status.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities or purposes. This includes racing, off-roading, or engaging in hazardous driving. Transporting dangerous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Ensure the vehicle is used as intended, adhering to passenger and weight limits. Driving outside of the agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed under Northern Irish law, Car Hire in Armagh is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is limited to the rental amount you paid in the past year. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Armagh. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of local courts.
10. Modifications to Terms
